Despite War, 50 New Immigrants Arrive from France and England
Over 50 immigrants from France and England arrived in Israel on a special flight amid war, showcasing the enduring Zionist spirit and facilitated by Israeli.
Jerusalem, 18 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — War cannot stop the Zionist spirit and the immigration of Jews from around the world to Israel. In the midst of the fighting against Iran, a special flight carrying more than 50 immigrants from France and Britain landed in Israel on Tuesday (March 17, 2026) in a special operation carried out by Israel’s Ministry of Immigration and Absorption, the Jewish Agency, and the Friendship Foundation.
Among the immigrants on the flight were more than 20 young families and 11 individual immigrants.
There were four babies on the plane, the youngest of whom was a five-month-old toddler, and the oldest immigrant on the flight was 92 years old.
Even before the flight took off, professionals from the Ministry of Immigration and Absorption, the Jewish Agency, and the Friendship Foundation flew to Paris to assist with the final procedures, and this morning, as mentioned, the flight departed with the new immigrants.
The entire process of absorbing the immigrants was carried out in a special way on the plane, so that upon landing, everyone will receive an ID card and an immigrant certificate. They will be absorbed in local authorities throughout the country, including Netanya, Jerusalem, Ashkelon, Modi’in, Tel Aviv, Caesarea, Ashdod, Arad, Hadera and Rishon LeZion. Two of the young immigrants who arrived alone will be absorbed in the Jewish Agency’s Etzion program at the Ra’anana absorption center.
According to data from the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency, since October 7, more than 60,000 immigrants have immigrated to Israel, and currently, about 1,000 more Jews from around the world are seeking to immigrate to Israel and have opened immigration files.
