Shambari served in recent years as the head of the Operations Department in the Military Intelligence of the Hamas terrorist organization, and in his role was responsible for consolidating operational situation assessments for the entire Gaza Strip. The terrorist was a central figure involved in intelligence gathering on IDF forces, for the direction and execution of terrorist plans against our forces, and posed an immediate threat to IDF forces operating in the area. Additionally, in his activities, he took an active part in planning the Hamas terrorist organization’s raid as part of the murderous massacre it carried out on October 7th. IDF forces in the Southern Command are deployed in the area according to the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat.
