The Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, spoke today (Sunday) with the combat soldiers of the Home Front Command’s Rescue Brigade, along with the Commander of the Home Front Command, Maj. Gen. Shai Kleper, and other commanders in the Command. In their conversation, the Chief of Staff expressed his appreciation for their actions since the outbreak of Operation “Lion’s Roar”.
“We are now attacking our most dangerous enemy, Iran,” began the Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir. “We launched a campaign about eight months ago, and we are launching this campaign once again after we have learned lessons, studied, and are determined to act more deeply, more harshly, and to harm them so that we can remove the threat from Iran in the long term.
“Now, Iran, it’s not just Iran. Iran also built the axis, it also built Hezbollah, it also in many ways built Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad in Gaza. It is building the axes, it is building militias in various places, it has built a regional system here to try and harm us.”
“We are now going for the head of the snake. One of the fronts is the home front, and the home front is a front for all intents and purposes. Your role, the role of the entire Command, and yours in particular, is a critical and vital role in the success of the campaign. Part of the victory depends on you, just as it depends now on the pilots attacking in Tehran.”
“Today also happens to be International Women’s Day, and I see combat soldiers here. I see your brigade commander and I see how she functions and how she operates.”
“Jordan, I want to tell you that I salute you on behalf of all citizens of the State of Israel for the work you are doing and for the challenges you are facing. The people of Israel are proud of you. I trust you and believe in you. Successfully deal with every challenge that we will face in the near future. I am convinced that together we will lead to the victory of the IDF and the people of Israel over our enemies.”
