IDF forces from the Yahalom Unit, the Yiftah Border Police, the Engineering Corps of the Menashe Brigade, and the Nahal Reconnaissance Unit completed a brigade-level counter-terrorism operation in the village of Silat al-Harithiya last night (Tuesday).
During the operation, the forces destroyed the home of the terrorist Ra’afat Dawasi, who was eliminated on August 17, 2024. He served as a senior terrorist in the Hamas terror organization in Jenin, which was dismantled by IDF forces as part of Operation ‘Defensive Shield’.
The terrorist was part of the cell that planted the explosive device that led to the death of Captain Alon Skaggio, z”l, and wounded 16 additional soldiers during operational activity in Jenin on June 27, 2024.
In addition, Dawasi participated in carrying out the attack at the Mahola Junction, where Yehonatan Deutsch, z”l, was murdered and another Israeli civilian was wounded on August 11, 2024.
Concurrently with the destruction of the house, Nahal Reconnaissance Unit and Yiftah Border Police forces arrested terrorists, located and confiscated weapons, and conducted dozens of interrogations of suspects in terror acts in the area.
