Jerusalem, 7 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Security Headquarters and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued safety recommendations for Israelis traveling to Vienna for this year’s Eurovision contest.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommendation for travelers:
In the event of an emergency, updates will also be sent to the Home Front Command app.
Emergencies and mass casualty incidents: Quickly evacuate to a safe place (police station, hotel, etc.), remain in your safe place until the authorities issue a calming message, report to the situation center and follow media announcements.
Demonstrations: In the event of an anti-Israeli protest, friction should be avoided and distanced from the scene.
Personal emergency: In the event of loss of travel documents, hospitalization, accident or arrest, contact the Israeli Embassy in Vienna.
Rules of conduct: Respect the laws of the place, obey the instructions of the authorities and organizers, and act courteously.
National Security Council (NSC) recommendations:
Travel warning for Austria: Level 2 (occasional threat) – increased precautions should be taken
Online safety: Avoid posting your location, accommodation, or entertainment plans on social media in real time.
Conduct in the area: Avoid as much as possible crowded, unsecured places. Maintain a high level of alertness, stay away from hot spots and minimize Israeli symbols.
Sensitive areas: Avoid entering areas that are hostile to Israelis and Jews.
The 2026 Eurovision song contest will be held from May 12 – May 16.
