Rabies Alert: Infected Puppy in Kfar Saba
Kfar Saba rabies alert issued after infected puppy identified; 4 exposed individuals receive preventive treatment. Contact health office if your pet or child.
The Ministry of Health reports on a puppy infected with Rabies in Kfar Saba. The puppy is a mixed breed, light in color. Four people who were exposed have received preventive treatment against Rabies.
The notification about the puppy was received yesterday, February 11, 2026.
We request that anyone who was in contact or whose animals came into contact with the infected animal between the dates: January 23, 2026, and February 11, 2026, inclusive, to urgently contact the Petah Tikva District Health Office, telephone 03-9051818, or the health office closest to their place of residence to consider preventive treatment.
The Ministry of Health requests:
- Parents of children – to check with their children if they were in contact with suspected animals and to contact the Health Office urgently.
- Pet owners – to contact the local veterinarian to verify their vaccination status.
The Ministry of Health reminds again that anyone bitten or scratched by an animal should immediately wash the area with running water and soap, disinfect with antiseptics, and go to the Health Office to check if preventive treatment against rabies is necessary.
