One-Year-Old Dies of Measles in Israel; Health Ministry Urges Vaccination
Israel's Health Ministry reports a one-year-old unvaccinated infant died of measles, the 13th death, urging routine vaccinations for infants and at-risk.
Jerusalem, 4 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli Ministry of Health reported that a one-year-old baby has died from measles, bringing the number of recent deaths to 13.
The ministry noted that the child was not vaccinated.
According to the Health Ministry, most of the recent measles deaths involved previously healthy, unvaccinated infants.
Health officials reiterated routine vaccination at ages one and six, and advised additional doses for infants in outbreak areas or traveling to high-risk locations. Unvaccinated individuals are urged to avoid large gatherings in affected regions.
