Jerusalem, 8 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Magen David Adom announced today that its teams have treated 2,503 people since the start of Operation “Roar of the Lion,” including casualties from missile fire, injuries sustained while rushing to shelters, and hundreds suffering from shock.
According to MDA, 594 of the casualties were caused by missile attacks, including 23 dead, 23 seriously wounded, 38 moderately wounded, 510 lightly injured, and 586 suffering from anxiety. Another 1,323 people were treated while making their way to protected areas, including 3 dead, 6 seriously wounded, 12 moderately wounded, and 1,302 lightly injured.
Overall, MDA said its medics and paramedics had treated 2,503 people, including 26 dead, 29 seriously wounded, 50 moderately wounded, 1,812 lightly injured, and 586 suffering from anxiety.
With the launch of the operation, MDA raised its alert level to maximum, fully staffing around 2,000 ambulances and intensive care units, 800 emergency motorcycles, and 700 rapid-response vehicles, with its 38,000 staff and volunteers on full readiness.
