Guidelines for Health System Operations Updated
The Ministry of Health issued updated guidelines for health system operations, focusing on cyber protection, expanded family care, and rehabilitation services.
The guidelines were issued after discussions and a current situation assessment, in coordination with the Home Front Command. They aim to ensure continuity of care while strictly safeguarding patients and medical staff.
Key points of the guidelines:
- Expand the operation of family care center (Tipat Halav) stations, opening 70% of protected stations
- Promote home rehabilitation through health plans and day rehabilitation at rehabilitation hospitals, and expand remote care
- Move to a strict, active cyber protection policy due to potential cyberattacks
This evening (Wednesday), the Ministry of Health issued updated instructions to health system organizations regarding tomorrow’s operations.
Given the possibility of cyberattacks on health system entities, the ministry directs organizations to adopt a strict, active protection policy. In addition to following technical protocols, organizations are instructed to increase alertness and monitoring, review all online services, and reduce or suspend nonessential digital activities. Risk management procedures must also be strengthened.
Of all protected stations, based on needs and operational limitations of service providers, 70% of family care center (Tipat Halav) stations will continue to expand nationwide.
Rehabilitation hospitals are instructed to consider shifting some services to day rehabilitation or remote care wherever possible, while health plans will advance home rehabilitation.
Outpatient services will operate only in protected areas, and when appropriate, will be shifted to home rehabilitation or secure remote care.
The Ministry of Health continues to monitor developments and will issue additional guidance as needed.
