Jerusalem, 10 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli crop protection company ADAMA has launched a new insecticide designed to help fruit and vegetable growers in the United States combat damaging sucking pests more quickly and effectively. The product, Ateka, uses the company’s proprietary Ayalon formulation technology to improve leaf penetration and plant uptake, enabling earlier pest control and longer-lasting protection.

Ateka contains the active ingredient spirotetramat and is registered for use on crops including citrus, grapes, leafy greens, and fruiting vegetables. The fully systemic insecticide targets pests such as aphids, whiteflies, thrips, and mites by disrupting their development after feeding on treated plants. ADAMA said the product can be integrated into pest management programs and may be introduced in additional markets in the future.
