New Committee Will Determine If Special Cases Allow for Employing Foreign Workers in Agriculture
Israel's Ministry of Agriculture established an exceptions committee to allow foreign workers in special agricultural cases, addressing unique needs and market.
Jerusalem, 25 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has expanded its response to farmers and established an exceptions committee for employing foreign workers in special cases. The ministry’s dedicated track will allow applications to be submitted in special and complex cases, with the aim of providing a flexible response tailored to the needs of the agricultural sector.
The special circumstances of the agricultural economy include, unique growing conditions, damage to activity due to extreme weather, agricultural crime and material changes in the market. This is in order to ensure the continuation of regular agricultural activity even in situations that are not addressed within the framework of the normal procedures.
