47,000 Units of Pest Control Equipment Enter Gaza

Israel's COGAT agency reports 47,000 pest control units, including rat and fly traps, have entered Gaza to improve sanitation.

Jerusalem, 20 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli agency COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) reported that another shipment of essential pest control and sanitation supplies entered Gaza yesterday, Tuesday, coordinated by CLA (the Israel Defense Force’s Coordination and Liaison Administration) Gaza via the private sector. These items were chosen as replacements for various others that could be dual-use, such as components for weapons.

This latest delivery includes 47,000 units of targeted pest control equipment, with a heavy focus on rodent mitigation and insect prevention:

14,000 Iron spring rat traps
Over 13,000 Yellow sticky plate traps
Close to 6,000 Glue & folding book traps
Over 3,000 Mesh traps
Over 1,000 Rat book traps
Over 4,000 Fly traps
Close to 4,000 Fly bait units
Over 2,000 Fly bug sprays

“We remain committed to addressing sanitation challenges on the ground, preventing the spread of disease, and facilitating vital humanitarian and health needs for the civilian population in Gaza,” said COGAT.
