Following an extensive manhunt, detectives from the Galilee Region, together with undercover Border Police officers, arrested two additional suspects yesterday in Qalqilya in connection with the murder of the late Riyad Salem in Deir Hanna.
On December 12, 2025, following a shooting incident in the town of Deir Hanna in the Galilee, 19-year-old Riyad Salem, a resident of the town, was pronounced dead outside his home.
Several days after the murder, as the investigation progressed, detectives from the Galilee Region YALAP Unit arrested two suspects involved in the incident, who remain in custody.
A manhunt was conducted for two additional suspects involved in the murder, including intensive operational activity in cooperation with additional units. Yesterday, with the assistance of undercover Border Police officers from the Judea and Samaria District, forces raided a structure in Qalqilya and arrested the two suspects, who had been hiding there.
The additional suspects, residents of Deir Hanna (18 and 29), were transferred for questioning by the Galilee Region Crime-Fighting Unit (YALAP). At the conclusion of their interrogation, they were brought before the Acre Magistrate’s Court, where their detention was extended until March 4, 2026.
The Israel Police will continue to act decisively against violent crime, in order to maintain public order, uncover the truth, and bring offenders to justice.
