Route 446 blocked Hasmonean Pass to Ne’ili Junction hazmat leak

Route 446 is blocked due to an LPG leak from a truck after a police chase accident, with two officers lightly injured.

The public is requested to use alternative routes. Police officers from the Efrat Station in the Shomron region, are currently operating alongside firefighters from the Fire and Rescue Services, following a gas leak (LPG) from a truck that was damaged in an accident after being hit by a police vehicle that was pursuing a stolen car. During the officers’ operation, a report was received about a stolen vehicle making its way on Route 446. The officers, who were preparing to stop it, noticed the vehicle swerving and driving against traffic, endangering road users. The vehicle rammed a police car, causing it to swerve and hit the side of the truck. Two officers were lightly injured and evacuated for medical treatment. The accident caused a gas leak from the truck, and firefighters from the Binyamin region are operating at the scene.
