Many Weapons Seized in Police Operations in Bedouin Town

Israeli police seized M16 rifles, pistols, and ammunition in the Bedouin town of Rahat, arresting four suspects amidst ongoing family disputes.

Jerusalem, 26 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police reported that, over the past few days, its officers have been operating in a number of “targeted activities” in the Bedouin city of Rahat in the Negev, during which three M16 weapons, four pistols, cartridges and ammunition were seized and four suspects were arrested. This comes in response to violent conflicts between families in the city, even as the country is fighting a war on two fronts against Iran and in Lebanon.

In one operation, a suspect was arrested in neighborhood 25, and a converted pistol, cartridges and ammunition were seized from his vehicle.

In another operation, between Rahat’s neighborhood 12 and the Al-Huzayil neighborhood, a suspect was arrested who was carrying two loaded pistols, M16 cartridges and live ammunition in a bag.

In a raid in the neighborhood near Beit Kama, a pistol and two M16 weapons, cartridges and ammunition were seized, and the forces arrested a suspect who was a resident of the area.

Meanwhile, in another operation, in cooperation with the Negev Military Police, a suspect was arrested who was carrying an M16 weapon in his home.
