Jerusalem holy sites reopen with boosted security measures, including hundreds of police and Border Police deployed to ensure safe visits and prayers.

Israel Police Crime

In light of the change in defense policy and updated Home Front Command guidelines, starting tomorrow morning, holy sites in Jerusalem will be opened for public visits and prayers. The Commander of the Jerusalem District, Superintendent Absalom Peled, has ordered increased operational readiness, under which hundreds of police officers, Border Police fighters, and volunteers will be deployed throughout Jerusalem, on traffic routes, in the Old City, and at the holy sites, with the aim of allowing all worshippers and visitors to arrive safely and exercise freedom of worship, while strictly maintaining public order and public security. Due to the expected crowds, we call on the public to be patient, to obey police instructions, to be vigilant for suspicious objects, and to report any suspicion to the police hotline 100.
