Israeli FM Warns Latin America of Hezbollah and Iran Ties to Crime Networks
Israeli FM Gideon Sa’ar warned Latin American leaders of Iran and Hezbollah's links to criminal networks and terrorism in the region.
Jerusalem, 26 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar warned his Latin American counterparts that Iran and Hezbollah operate in the region through terrorism and links to criminal and drug networks, during a virtual briefing on the war.
“The Iranian regime and Hezbollah have operated and are operating in Latin America through terrorism and through connections to drug organizations,” Sa’ar said. He also urged governments to designate Hezbollah and Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as terrorist organizations.
The briefing was attended by the foreign ministers of Paraguay, Bolivia, Ecuador and Panama, as well as the deputy foreign ministers of Argentina, Peru, Honduras and Costa Rica.
