Jerusalem, 4 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — A Nazareth man suspected of defrauding over 70 customers of a central Israeli bank through phishing scams, is under arrest, Israeli Police announced on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old suspect allegedly tricked victims into entering personal data on a fake bank website, then used their accounts to transfer funds, settle debts, and make cash withdrawals. According to the police, the man stole NIS 260,000 ($74,000), and evidence seized by investigators ties the man to 400 additional attempted frauds totaling over NIS 4 million ($1.1 million).

Two additional suspects were also arrested.

Authorities warn the public to avoid entering login details via unsolicited links.
