Jerusalem, 29 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation and the National Public Transportation Authority, in cooperation with the Golan Regional Council and the Egged Group, announce the opening of a new era in public transportation in the Golan. Starting Friday (October 31, 2025), the Golan Regional Council, in cooperation with the Egged Group, will operate a new and advanced public transportation system under the “Egged Golan” brand, which will bring with it a significant upgrade in the service experience for residents of the Golan, Katzrin and the region.
The move marks the return of the Egged Group to the Golan, and includes expanding routes, increasing frequencies, improving accessibility, and significantly upgrading the fleet of buses and minibuses operating in the Golan, while switching to environmentally friendly natural gas-powered buses. 35 of the company’s 40 buses that will operate in the Golan will be gas-powered.
