Slight Rise in Workforce Percentage in September

Israel's workforce percentage sees a slight rise in September 2025, according to new data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics.

Jerusalem, 30 october, 2025 (TPS-IL) โ€” Israelโ€™s Central Bureau of Statistics released the Labor Force Survey data for September 2025 (compared to August 2025, among those aged 15 and over):

Percentage of the labor force โ€“ 62.7% (62.3% in August).

Employment rate (percentage of employed people out of the total population) โ€“ 60.8% (60.5% in August).

Percentage of unemployed in the labor force โ€“ 3.0% (2.9% in August).

In September 2025 (compared to August 2025, among those aged 15 and over):

Percentage of the labor force โ€“ 62.9% (62.5% in August).

Employment rate (percentage of employed people out of the total population) โ€“ 61.0% (60.6% in August).

Percentage of unemployed in the labor force โ€“ 3% (unchanged from August).

Employment rate excluding those temporarily absent from work all week for economic reasons โ€“ 60.8% (60.4% in August).

Percentage of those temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons โ€“ 5.6% (2.5% in August), military reserve duty โ€“ 11.7% (5.0% in August), other โ€“ 0.2% (0.5% in August).

Percentage of men temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons โ€“ 6.6% (4.3% in August), military reserve duty โ€“ 22.3% (15.3% in August), other โ€“ 0.5% (0.9% in August).

Percentage of women temporarily absent from work all week by selected reasons: economic reasons โ€“ 4.7% (1.7% in August), military reserve duty โ€“ 1.6% (0.5% in August), other โ€“ none (0.3% in August).
