Jerusalem, 11 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Against the backdrop of the alarming increase in road fatalities, the Israel Police and the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) launched “Committed to Life” – an integrated national program to combat traffic mortalities.
The plan is based on expanding operational presence in the field, by adding dozens of new vehicles that will operate on urban and interurban roads throughout the country, alongside the integration of advanced technologies and combined activity of all parties operating in the field of road safety, in order to increase the level of safety on the roads and curb the carnage.
This week, 50 mobile units began operating in the Tel Aviv, South and Coast districts. These units join the 45 mobile units that began operating last week in the Central and West Bank districts.
All mobility services are operated based on joint data analysis by the Traffic Division and the IDF, focusing on risk areas and life-threatening offenses, including speeding, failing to obey red lights, and using a mobile phone while driving.
At the same time, significant resources are being invested in the acquisition of advanced enforcement technologies, including new camera systems and future systems such as average speed measurement, designed for smarter, more deterrent, and more effective enforcement.
