Positive Financial Balances in October

Jerusalem, 9 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The net balances of the financial situation in October are positive (except in the hotel industry), reported Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics.

Detailed Balance Sheets – September vs. August 2025

The net balances on current activity and the volume of new orders in the construction sectors indicate a significant decrease in activity in September compared to August. In contrast, in the trade sectors, the net balances on sales in September are positive and higher compared to the previous month.

The limitation of the shortage of professional workers in the construction industry has been significant throughout the war. More than 45% of businesses define it as moderately/severely affecting their company’s operations. In October, when the ceasefire began, this estimate dropped to 36% of companies.

It can be seen that even in the third quarter of 2025, the security situation is significantly affecting business activity. In the industrial sectors, about 34% of businesses define it as a moderate/severe limitation, compared to only about 12% before the start of the Iron Sword War. It should be noted that at the beginning of the war, nearly half of the businesses in industry (about 48%) defined it this way

In the hotel industry, the impact of the security situation is the most severe. Even before the war, more than 50% of managers defined the security situation as a significant limitation (moderate/severe), and during the war – more than 90%.

In the construction industry, approximately 37% of businesses define the security situation as significantly (moderately/severely) affecting their company’s operations. At the beginning of the war (end of 2023), approximately 72% of businesses in construction defined it this way.

In other industries, significantly higher percentages of businesses were also found in which the security situation restriction was defined as a significant restriction compared to the pre-war situation, although there was a significant decrease in these percentages compared to the beginning of the war. In the service industries, this restriction returned to a level similar to the pre-war situation.
