Jerusalem, 19 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Superintendent Yair Hetzroni (54) will be appointed to the position of israel’s Deputy Police Commissioner. The appointment was announced after Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir accepted the recommendations of Police Commissioner-General Danny Levy, regarding a round of appointments for senior officers.
Hetzroni is a father of two and lives in Rishon LeZion. He holds a bachelor’s degree in general studies and a master’s degree in Middle Eastern history. He currently serves as the commander of the Central District.
Chief Avshalom Peled (64) was appointed commander of the Jerusalem District
Chief Amir Cohen (55) was appointed Commander of the Central Yamuna District.
On October 7, Cohen led the forces that stopped the surprise attack and prevented it from spreading to other areas of the country, and was even wounded in the battle for the Sderot Police Station.
