Jerusalem, 2 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Planning and Building Council approved today (Tuesday, 2.12.25) the plan initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Planning Administration to address floods. This is a new national outline plan, which for the first time in Israel will define and maintain Israel’s hydrological infrastructure.

This new plan, said the Ministry, preserves the areas required for runoff regulation sites, as well as establishes a mechanism for protecting the river areas that serve as natural infrastructure for conveying rain. This is with the aim of reducing the phenomenon of flooding and flooding in development and construction areas. The plan will serve as an outline tool for planning and development agencies in Israel.
