New Educational Center Inaugurated at Historic Chazon Ish House in Bnei Brak
Jerusalem, 20 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The “Vision for Generations” center was inaugurated at the Maran Chazon Ish (Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz 1878-1953) House in Bnei Brak. The new center was established at the initiative of Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Heritage, Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Municipality of Bnei Brak, and implemented by the Government Tourism Company, is an innovative visitor, tourism and heritage center – the first of its kind in the city – built with an investment of 15 million Shekels ($4.39 million).
The center covers approximately 600 square meters and was restored in the historic home of Rabbi Karelitz to preserve his legacy and spiritual work. He was dubbed the Chazon Ish – Hebrew for “Vision of Man” – for his seminal work of that name, which is about certain aspects of Jewish law including laws of purity.
It was established with the aim of perpetuating the image and great work of Maran Chazon Ish along with the history of the city of Bnei Brak – which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and to “create a journey through time to the image and work of one of the great Torah scholars of recent generations.”
The center places great emphasis on the multimedia experience and innovation system, along with preserving the contents and values of the Heritage Center in a way that is accessible and suitable for tourists and a wide age range. It presents the connection between Haredi Judaism and the founding of the state, while recreating several significant focal points in the home of the Maran Chazon Ish.
