Jerusalem, 23 november, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met this morning in his office in Jerusalem with India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal.

The Prime Minister and the Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry discussed strengthening economic ties between the countries on a number of issues, including expanding investments, promoting a trade agreement, and promoting the economic corridor from India through the Middle East and israel to Europe.

Piyush Goyal said he was, “honored to call on the Prime Minister of Israel” at the conclusion of his three-day visit and that he conveyed to Netanyahu the “warm wishes” of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Goyal highlighted the signing of the Terms of Reference to launch FTA negotiations, which he said will boost trade, investment and technology cooperation and said they also discussed strengthening Israel and India’s innovation partnership by “combining Israel’s hi-tech strengths with India’s scale and talent.”

Goyal added that he also took Netanyahu’s guidance on “further deepening bilateral economic and strategic engagement across the sectors of agriculture, water, defense, science & technology and innovation.”

The meeting was attended by Economy Minister Nir Barkat, Deputy Head of the National Security Council, Gil Reich, Political Advisor, Ofir Falk, and Indian Ambassador to Israel, J. P. Singh.
