Jerusalem, 13 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed he declined president donald Trump’s invitation to participate in an Egyptian peace conference to be held later today.

“The Prime Minister thanked President Trump for his invitation, but said that he would not be able to participate due to the proximity of the holiday,” of Simchat Torah, Netanyahu’s office said.

Sundown on Monday marks the beginning of the Simchat Torah holiday, which is also the Hebrew anniversary of Hamas’ October 7 attack. Around 1,200 people were killed that day and 252 Israelis and foreigners were abducted.
