Netanyahu Congratulates US Secretary of State Rubio for New Sanctions Imposed on International Criminal Court

Netanyahu congratulates US Secretary of State Rubio for new sanctions on ICC judges. Decisive action against false smear campaign. Period.

Gil Tanenbaum Breaking News

Jerusalem, 20 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, for his decision to impose sanctions on four more judges of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague. The ICC last year issued arrest warrants for senior Israeli official including Netanyahu himself.

“This is a decisive act against the false smear campaign against the State of Israel and the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and for truth and justice,” he said.

The ICC members who have been sanctioned to date have all had any US assets in their possession frozen and are barred from entry to the US.

“The International Criminal Court continues to disregard national sovereignty and facilitate lawfare through efforts to investigate, arrest, detain, and prosecute American and Israeli nationals,” said Rubio of his decision. “In response, I am sanctioning four additional ICC officials. We will continue to hold accountable those responsible for the ICC’s morally bankrupt and legally baseless actions against Americans and Israelis.”
