Jerusalem, 23 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Netanya Mayor Miriam Feirberg passed away today, Sunday, at the age of 74.
She had served as the city’s mayor since 1998.
“Feirberg was considered a leader with a long-term vision and exceptional execution ability,” said Israel’s Government Press Office. “Under her leadership, Netanya became a prominent tourist, economic and cultural center, and underwent a comprehensive image and infrastructure revolution.”
Among her notable achievements:
Significant development of the promenade and beaches, which have become one of the city’s international symbols.
Promoting new neighborhoods and accelerated urban growth, including the development of modern residential complexes and commercial centers.
Upgrading educational institutions, expanding classrooms and building new schools, along with promoting welfare and community programs.
Attracting entrepreneurs and investors who have made Netanya a central city in the fields of employment and industry.
Strengthening urban culture through the establishment of cultural institutions, community events and festivals that have become a tradition.
May her memory be blessed.
