Ministry of Religious Services Presents New Plan for 2026

Jerusalem, 27 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Religious Services presented the work plan for 2026 with an emphasis on improving service, innovation and promoting the kashrut system.

At the center of the plan are several key goals, including: integrating the National Center for Holy Places as an integral part of the ministry’s activities, reducing gaps in the appointment of city rabbis in many local authorities, advanced digital accessibility of religious services and their adaptation to populations with special needs.

The plan also includes: strengthening religious councils, preparing for and protecting against cyber threats, regulating the system for handling bodies in times of emergency, and burial solutions for all citizens. Emphasis will also be placed on regulating and streamlining the national kashrut system, as well as encouraging and increasing public participation in traditional events and celebrations of the righteous.
