Gil Tanenbaum Breaking News

Jerusalem, 14 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Innovation Authority, the Ministry of Construction and Housing, and the Ministry of Transportation will invest approximately 60 million Shekels ($18.5 million) in promoting innovative technologies to save on the costs of concrete-based infrastructure, improve protection, and reduce dependence on imported raw materials.

The construction industry is currently required to significantly increase the pace of construction and deal with increasing engineering complexities, from the construction of residential towers to bridges, tunnels and national infrastructure facilities, explained the Construction Ministry. Integrating advanced technologies is considered a necessary condition for meeting national goals.

The investment plan will focus on promoting RSTPCS technologies – advanced reinforced concrete systems based on a systemic approach that combines the development of a dense and strong cement matrix together with reinforcement from composite materials.

This combination allows for significant savings in raw materials, environmental durability, a service life of over 100 years and an improvement in the protection capabilities of buildings and infrastructure.

At the same time, the move will support the promotion of technologies from the advanced industries in which Israel is a leader, such as aviation, and by implementing carbon fiber-based solutions and material innovation.
