Jerusalem, 17 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology and the National Digital Directorate published a second call this week for the implementation of artificial intelligence in government ministries, with an investment of 40 million Shekels ($11.8 million). The call invites government ministries and support units to submit proposals for innovative projects that will lead to a leap forward in service to citizens and the efficiency of government activity.

The move is intended to accelerate the integration of artificial intelligence into government work within the framework of the National Artificial Intelligence Program, while positioning Israel as a world leader in the field and significantly improving services to citizens, work processes and deepening the ability to make data-based decisions. The move is a continuation of the success of the first round held in 2023, in which nine groundbreaking projects were selected that are currently in advanced stages of development.

Among the notable projects: a project at the Ministry of Labor to develop an artificial intelligence system to check the utilization of workers’ rights, a project at the Ministry of Justice to develop an advanced system for supervising non-profit organizations using artificial intelligence, and a project at the Tax Authority for automatic classification of customs details.
