Jerusalem, 30 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The State Attorney’s Office has filed an indictment against a Haifa resident (30) on 27 counts of receiving something by deception, fraud and forgery. The defendant operated as part of a criminal organization that specialized in defrauding Russian speakers, taking advantage of their language difficulties and advanced age.
According to the indictment, the defendant operated during 2025 until the day of her arrest in August 2025, as part of a criminal organization that engaged in defrauding Russian speakers, taking advantage of their language difficulties and advanced age.
The defendant and her accomplices allegedly contacted the victims of the crime by telephone, impersonated police officers or authorized representatives of authorities, and presented them with false representations about a criminal investigation that threatened their money.
As part of the fraud, they “convinced the victims of the crime to withdraw funds or take out loans and transfer them to the defendant, supposedly for the purpose of “protecting their property and assisting the authorities.”
