Jerusalem, 25 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — During a procession that took place on Saturday in the northern Arab city Umm al-Fahm, which was held in violation of the conditions set by the police, including a ban on waving Palestinian flags and signs inciting against IDF (Israel Defense Forces) soldiers and the State of Israel, police arrested a person for disorderly conduct who ignored police instructions.
Meanwhile, a member of the Knesset who the police did not identify and who participated in the demonstration is suspected of attacking police while resisting the removal of the inciting signs. The police are working to obtain permits from the authorized authorities in order to investigate him for his actions.
Members of the Knesset enjoy criminal immunity; however, this can be removed by a Knesset committee.
