Jerusalem Boy Dies from Measles, Is Outbreak’s Ninth Fatality

Jerusalem, 9 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — A 7-year-old boy from Jerusalem died after contracting measles, Israel’s Health Ministry said Sunday. The child, who had an underlying illness and was vaccinated with one dose, died upon arrival at the emergency room. He is the ninth fatality since the current measles outbreak began.

According to the ministry, 16 patients are currently hospitalized with measles, including eight in intensive care. Officials urged the public to seek immediate medical attention if symptoms appear and stressed that measles is preventable through safe and effective vaccination.
