Israel’s Military Welcomes Hostage Deal, Orders Forces on Alert

Jerusalem, 9 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli Military said Thursday morning it “welcomes the signing of the agreement for the return of the hostages, which was signed overnight.”

Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir “instructed all Forces, both on the front lines and in the rear, to prepare strong defenses and be ready for any scenario.”

According to the statement, force deployments will follow government directives and focus on troop safety. Zamir also “instructed to prepare to lead the operation for the hostages’ return,” the IDF added.
