Jerusalem, 26 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, approved yesterday (Tuesday) the IDF combat schedule for the year 2026, and the schedule was distributed today to all IDF units.
The formulation of the schedule was carried out in accordance with the lessons of the war and the development of a new concept of defense, readiness, and preparedness, said the IDF; it enables the missions and the addressing of the many challenges facing us. The schedule encompasses all the missions, exercises, trainings, readiness, means, and resources for the year 2026.
The purpose of the schedule is to generate transparency, clarity, and certainty as much as possible for the units and personnel of the IDF in both regular and reserve service, and to enable flexibility and planning capability from a yearly perspective for the commanders of the various units.
According to the schedule, in the coming year, an effort will be made to conduct the trainings in an orderly manner.
In addition, all regular units in the IDF are expected to undergo a dedicated training to enhance readiness that will last for several weeks during the coming year according to an organized plan.
The purpose of the schedule is to generate transparency, clarity, and certainty as much as possible for the units and personnel of the IDF in both regular and reserve service, and to enable flexibility and planning capability from a yearly perspective for the commanders of the various units.
