Jerusalem, 8 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The State Attorney’s Office filed an indictment with the Beersheba District Court against a 33-year-old Israeli resident of Hamra (a town in the Jordan River Valley), who is accused of carrying out missions for Iranian foreign agents in exchange for payment.
According to the indictment, in June a foreign agent named “Alex” contacted the defendant through a Telegram dating group. The agent offered him a daily payment of 2,000 Shekels ($596) for performing various tasks. The defendant responded positively, and even when suspicion arose that it was an Iranian entity, he replied that “this is irrelevant and he does not want to know.”
“The defendant knowingly had contact with people about whom there is reasonable basis to suspect that they were engaged or were sent to engage on behalf of or for a foreign state or terrorist organization in collecting information or acts that could harm the security of the state, without having an explanation for this, and he also knowingly provided information to the enemy that could be of benefit to the enemy, in exchange for payment in virtual currencies,” said the State Attorney’s Office.
