Jerusalem, 10 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Soldiers foiled an attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel via drone from the west, the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday. Surveillance units, working with the air control system, detected the drone’s incursion and alerted troops who intercepted it. Three M16 rifles were found attached to the aircraft.
On Thursday, Defense Minister Israel Katz instructed the army to change its rules of engagement to more effectively deal with aerial drones smuggling weapons from Egypt.
