Jerusalem, 22 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Over the past few weeks, Israel’s National Cyber Directorate identified a trend of a wave of cyber attacks against companies that provide computing services to many companies in the economy. More than ten private companies, the Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service), government ministries, and certain IDF (Israel Defense Forces) entities were subject to some level of attack, most of them attacked through their connection to digital services companies for business entities that constitute a link in the supply chains
The investigation by the Directorate revealed that in many recent cases, attackers exploited stolen or leaked usernames and passwords, and used them to penetrate systems. In most cases, there was no functional disruption, but in some cases, information was leaked from organizations. However, the attacks were intended to cause much wider damage, which was prevented thanks to the rapid and coordinated action of the Directorate, the affected companies, and all partners. The Directorate teams worked in close cooperation with the affected companies and with the MIRROR Forum – a professional forum of cyber defense companies that specialize in handling attacks and that works in cooperation with the Directorate.
