Jerusalem, 3 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli authorities thwarted an attempt to smuggle about 19 kilograms of MDMA into the country through Ben Gurion Airport, the Israel Tax Authority announced on Wednesday.

The shipment, imported from Belgium and addressed to Ashdod, was intercepted following undercover operations. Officers arrested two suspects — a brother and sister in their twenties from the city — after they allegedly accepted a package containing dozens of bottles filled with pills believed to be MDMA.

The pair were taken for questioning and later remanded in custody.
