Jerusalem, 11 June, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli startup NitroFix and California’s 1s1 Energy have received a BIRD Energy grant to develop a green ammonia generator. Their joint project combines NitroFix’s clean ammonia production with 1s1 Energy’s advanced membrane technology to create a zero-emission alternative to traditional fossil-derived ammonia used for agriculture, energy storage, and maritime fuel.

The companies first partnered through CHILI, a U.S.-based climate tech incubator. Funded by the U.S. and Israeli energy ministries, the grant supports clean energy solutions. The new system aims to offer a cleaner, more flexible option for agriculture, energy storage, and shipping, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
