Israel to Expand Local Production of Infrared Detectors for Defense, Space Use
Israel's Defense Ministry partners with SCD to enhance infrared sensors production for defense and space applications, reinforcing technological independence.
Jerusalem, 1 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Defense Ministry signed a NIS 380 million ($113 million) agreement with Israeli company SemiConductor Devices (SCD) to expand production of advanced infrared sensors. The deal will boost the development of infrared detectors of various ranges for defense and space applications.
Officials said the project will strengthen Israel’s technological independence and meet the army’s future needs.
