Jerusalem, 26 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Minister of the Interior directed the immediate entry of thousands of foreign workers from Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and other countries into the construction industry, through the private employment track with the aim of assisting in the functional continuity of the construction industry in Israel.
Minister Arbel, in his instructions from the weekend, requested the removal of any obstacle to the arrival of the workers, subject to supervision of the corporations that invited the workers so that the required inspection would be carried out after the workers entered Israel, while imposing severe sanctions against an employer who would bring in a worker in violation of the law.
Israel has been suffering from a labor shortage since the October 7 attack.
