Jerusalem, 2 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli soldiers along the Egyptian border thwarted two separate weapons smuggling attempts, the Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday.
Overnight, a drone from Egyptian territory was detected crossing into Israel, carrying ten firearms that were intercepted and seized by IDF troops.
Earlier Wednesday, a suspicious vehicle was spotted in the same area. After a brief pursuit, the driver was arrested, and 14 additional weapons were found in the vehicle, which was also confiscated.
The suspect and the seized weapons have been handed over to security forces for further investigation.
