Jerusalem, 9 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Minister of Agriculture MK Avi Dichter met with his Cypriot counterpart Dr. Maria Panayiotou in Jerusalem on Tuesday to discuss deepening cooperation in agriculture, water, climate, and food security.

Talks focused on advanced agricultural technologies, including drones, satellites, and smart irrigation systems, as well as wastewater use for crops. The two also explored joint projects to improve resilience against drought, heat waves, and plant and animal diseases.

Cyprus will send a delegation to the International Conference on Food Security from Aquaculture in Eilat this January. Expanded collaboration also aims to support Israeli startups and EU-related initiatives during Cyprus’ upcoming EU Council presidency.
