Jerusalem, 18 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Last week, a delegation headed by Israel’s Minister of Regional Cooperation, MK David Amsalem, and with the participation of the ministry’s Director General, Gilad Shadmon, and representatives of government companies, left for Kazakhstan, and held a series of official meetings in Astana and Almaty.
As part of the visit, two Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) were signed:
With the Minister of Water Resources of Kazakhstan, Nurzhigitov, for regional cooperation in the field of water — focusing on Israeli technologies for water recovery, conservation, and innovation in agriculture.
With the Minister of Education of Kazakhstan, Zhuldyz Suleimenova, for cooperation in the field of special education — including training district counselors in an annual course to be held in Israel starting this February.
Minister Amsalem emphasized the importance of water restoration and special education as key tools in building a common future for the countries.
In addition, an olive tree was planted in the Astana Botanical Garden as a symbol of the growing friendship between Israel and Kazakhstan, and a meeting was held with the Governor of Almaty, Darkhan Satybaldi, on the subject of strengthening regional ties, resuming direct flights, and projects in the fields of education and ecology.
