Israel Aiming for 50% Drop in Road Fatalities Over Next 10 Years

Jerusalem, 9 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety launched Road Safety Week 2025 on Sunday with a national emergency conference aimed at reversing the country’s road safety trends. Director General Moshe Ben Zaken unveiled the National Road Safety Plan for 2025–2030, which seeks to cut road fatalities by 25% within five years and by half within a decade.

Ben Zaken described the event as “a historic conference” uniting all stakeholders under one goal—to save lives. He emphasized that road safety is “a first-class national goal” and set an ambitious target: placing Israel among the world’s ten leading countries in road safety.
