Israeli Ministry of Communications fines Hot Mobile over $99,000 for overcharging subscribers, with dozens of complaints. Xphone 018 Ltd. also penalized.
Jerusalem, 21 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Communications fined Hot Mobile Ltd. NIS 326,180 ($99,147) for charging subscribers more than their contractually agreed amounts. A supervisory review found dozens of justified complaints, with Hot Mobile accounting for 34% of all overcharge complaints between June and December 2024 — far above its market share.
The ministry rejected the company’s claim that these were isolated incidents and noted worsening non-compliance since last year, leading to a higher sanction. Hot Mobile’s claimed corrective measures were deemed insufficient. Xphone 018 Ltd. was also fined NIS 65,360 ($19,867)for failing to provide timely information and proper contract documentation.
