FM Sa’ar to conduct a diplomatic visit to Argentina and Paraguay

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar will begin tomorrow (Monday, 24 November 2025) a diplomatic visit to Paraguay and Argentina.

During the visit, Minister Sa’ar will meet with the President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, and with the President of Argentina, Javier Milei. He will be accompanied by an Israeli economic and business delegation aimed at expanding economic cooperation between the countries.

As part of the visit to Paraguay, Minister Sa’ar will address a special joint session of both houses of the Paraguayan Congress in Asunción, convened in honor of his visit. The session will also feature remarks by the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Paraguay, Raúl Latorre, and the President of the National Senate, Basilio Núñez.
Paraguay’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rubén Ramírez Lezcano, will host Minister Sa’ar during the visit.

During the visit to Argentina, Minister Sa’ar will participate in memorial events commemorating the victims of the terrorist attacks on the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires and the AMIA jewish community center. He will also deliver remarks at an event marking the 90th anniversary of DAIA, the umbrella organization of Jewish institutions in Argentina, in the presence of government officials and members of the Jewish community.

He will be hosted by Argentina’s newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pablo Quirno. Sa’ar is also expected to meet with Argentina’s Minister of Defense, Luis Petri; Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich; Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem; Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Fernando Iglesias; and Chair of the Argentina–Israel Parliamentary Friendship Group, Sabrina Ajmechet.

Paraguay relocated its embassy to Jerusalem in December 2024. President Javier Milei announced during his visit to Israel in June this year that Argentina will open its embassy in Jerusalem in 2026. In April, Paraguay designated Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization and expanded the designation to include the so-called “political wings” of Hamas and Hezbollah.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar:

“Deepening our ties with Argentina and Paraguay – two of Israel’s greatest friends in the world – is of great importance to us.

Argentina and Paraguay have stood firmly with Israel over the past two years during the war, and they continue to stand with Israel resolutely in the international arena and in international institutions.

The goals of the visit are to strengthen diplomatic coordination and to deepen the bilateral and economic relations between Israel and its partners in Latin America.”
